Take two cookies...And call me in the morn'

Needless to say, Will is Dan's son. This boy loves anything chocolate!!! M & M's and cookies are his favorite treats. He knows when Daddy is eating one-he must deserve one too. And Will is resourceful when "treats" are on the counter. The above picture is untouched. Will moved a stool in place to climb on the chair, up to the island for a cookie. The little sneak!

*Note: This picture was taken during President's Day weekend. The same weekend Will had the stomach virus. Done with the usual clear liquids-he prescribed himself two cookies.

(Late) Sugar Cookies

Finding time to update our blog is hard to do...or so I tell myself - to ease the guilt. But honestly, I wanted to reminisce with everyone about our first Valentine's Day. (Late, I know!) I was working at the kaysville Cutler's, Friday Valentine's Day 2003. Famous for their sugar cookies, we had a on slot of last minute orders. At the end of my shift, I just wanted to go home and rest. Dan had planned on having dinner with a co-worker and his wife and was picking me up at 6:30 that evening.

I remember being so tired I was kind of a party pooper, drastically opposite of Dan. He couldn't wait to start the night, so much so that he ran to the front door of our friends home leaving me in the car shocked that he hadn't opened my door. Stubbornly I insisted he open my door, he flew off the steps down to the car. He barely cracked it and dashed back inside the home, as I thought "I must really be tired." With the door slightly closed I knocked and waited. No one answered...so I knocked again and pushed the door open some. Hanging into the foyer was a note card attached to string, winding around the entry. It read: "This is the beginning of our journey, Follow me!" My spirits changed as I thought this must be like a "Murder Mystery Dinner" activity, but with a Love theme....Cool! It eventually lead me to Dan, kneeling in a suit...with a huge smile trying to mask his vulnerability worn on his sleeve. Fumbling to start the CD with our song as he was presenting a small, black velvet ring box and asking me to marry him.

This past Valentine's Day, marks five years since that night - when I said YES! And I have been reflecting on our journey so far, and I am so happy with where we have been, but can't wait to see where we will go! I love you Dan! You make me so happy! You love me, you love William and you love Katie! Thank you for such a special gift! Love you lots Sweet!
